Why have a first flush diverter any way!
Well if you are just going to use it for watering the garden then maybe it is not quite so important. However it will help keep your main tank cleaner. It is much easier to clean out a diverter than to wait until the main tank is empty and then get inside it to clean it effectively.
A recent 5 year study from Massey University has shown that over 50% of tanks fails to meet the minimal standards for contamination and 30% showed heavy faecal contamination (from animal and bird droppings) The study was done over 560 samples from domestic dwellings.

There is now a large
100 litre capacity diverter available for the
underground tank. It sits on top of the shoulder of an underground
tank. It is also adjustable according to the depth of soil above the tank.

- Large 60 litres (or 100 litres for ug tanks) collected compared to 10 litres or less of other brands (The more dirty water collected - the cleaner the water going into your tank will be - 10 litres is only a bucket full - try cleaning the roof by chucking just a bucket of water onto it. It is not going to be very clean is it?!!!).
