WATER TANKS

Plastic Rotational Moulder/ Manufacturer

Wollongong NSW

DIVERTERS

  • Tank can be placed directly on flat level ground. Grass, bare soil, concrete & pavers are acceptable esp with added sand.
  • We recommend 30mm level sand base approximately 250mm wider than the tank diameter and soil or road base placed over the edge to help eliminate wind erosion.
  • Tank can be placed on a level concrete pad slightly larger than the tank diameter.
  • A tank stand can be used if decking has no more than 10 -20mm spacing. Design tank stand to take 3-4 times the weight of a full tank. (Note: a litre of water is 1 kg in weight).
  • Make sure overflow is discharged away from tank to eliminate the chance of water erosion undermining tank base.
  • Use flexible hose between tank and pipeline to eliminate breaking the tap or placing stress on the tank.
  • Place tank in shady area if possible to maximize optimal tank life.

Diagram above is of a tank showing the high overflow and the sand base needing to be slightly larger than tank diameter. It is important to ensure that the over flow is to be piped away from the tank to avoid undermining tank.   The diagram above left is to help explain that the tap needs to have a flexible hose or pipe. This flexibility helps to prevent stresses on tank, tap and pipe work. The shaded area is where the flexibility is needed and should be approximately 300mm long.
